From early on I knew I would do something musical. There was music in our house playing all the time. The Beatles were hot at that time, and I couldn't wait for their Saturday morning cartoon show. When relatives came to visit we had talent shows for the kids. Me, my brothers, Brad, Shotgun, Binkey and Douggy always imitated the Jackson-5. One Christmas I got a guitar, and my brother Brad got a set of drums. I liked the drums better so we switched, and played together for a couple of years.
I was the only one that music stayed with and I am mostly self taught.

In Junior high I wasn't a part of the schools music curriculum, but that didn't stop me from entering talent contest and shows. Some older guys from High schools asked me to join their band called Final Explosion. They played Junior high and high school dances, house parties, block parties, YMCA dances, barbecues and an occasional nightclub. In High School I did the usual Marching band, Jazz band and Concert band thing. But, outside of school there were a couple of good bands that I was a part of also, Osiris and Continental Express.

I got my first chance at touring in the summers with a local singer and TV show host, Larry Huggins. Since then I've played with the late Richard Groove Holmes, done recordings with the band Night Flight and Session. I've also done a few local TV and Radio Jingles recorded on the Chocolate Star label.

Now I work with a number of artists, Jaye Dose Jazz, The Old News Band, The Vicki Austin Show, but my personal favorite is Exit 45. These guys are like an extension of my family. Everyone gets to bring in their compositions and share in the task of writing the material, everyone has input, and everyone's input is respected.

My heroes are to numerous to name and I love most of the cats who do this for a living. It's not an easy gig.
